I hope all parents are teaching their children to enjoy reading. Writers of children's books are doing a great job of getting the attention of the young. They have my deepest admiration. children who read today will become the avid readers of tomorrow.

By reading good literature, children will broaden their knowledge base and their horizons. It is the stuff dreams are made of and built on. The libraries have their children's sections and many offer story times. I wonder how many parents are able to get their young ones in there to read and be read to? I do so hope the numbers are vast. Other parents are creating their own reading rooms with their children at home. I think that is grand.

Books open doors to the imagination. Most young readers strengthen their voacabularies and gain written skills as well. They also learn valuable lessons on life and the world around them.
