Savannah Black Author, Update

Due to an avalanche of problems, I have been off the net for a while. A family member is in cardiac critical care, trying to recover from triple by-pass. After taking time off work, to be at the hospital, I have to concentrate on making money, as well as getting ready to move my horse, dog and me to Florida. To say the least I am a bit stressed. Now, my body has decided to get an upper respiratory infection. I seem to have a very full plate at the moment. I miss keeping up with what everyone els… Continue

Off the net

I have been and will be off the net for a while. I am dealing with family illness and hospitals right now. I will eventually get back into the swing of things but my energy is being directed there. Thanks and Keep my aunt peggy in your prayers.

An interview with one of my Vampires

I am a freelance journalist and a few nights ago I was privileged to interview the man who some consider the richest man in the world. I was not sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Although a rather aloof man, he treated me with respect. I wanted to photograph him but he was adamantly against it, so I will describe his physical appearance: My first impression was of being in the presence of royalty. His aristocratic bearing, posture and speech were old world. He still speaks with a… Continue

The Three Bears

The three bears came into my life some twenty or so years ago. With them, they brought love friendship and imagination. The bears came alive, in my mind as well as my now exs-wife's. We would imagine what they were doing, while we were away to work or other things. (It was always adult oriented) They have stayed in my heart ,and the white one is still with me. Unfotunately for me, my wife got coustody of the other two. I have a Young Adult manuscript in the works with the bears and the other one… Continue

Monsters and murder.

I am 85 pages into my latest manuscript in about 3 or 4 weeks. I can't write all the time so for me this is a good pace. I am having to write monsters that have been in the back of my mind for years. What surprises me is the way they pop out of my head and come to life on the computer screen. I have had to push the vilence envelope. Although I am no stranger to vilence, having fought in a war, it is still hard for me to write about it unless its a war story.

haven't been on here in along time so sorry about being so late in getting back with you. I didn't live too far from there in NH. I lived in concord until I was twenty five, then we moved south because of my fathers health.... I loved it there and still it feels like home even though all my family now live in the south but one brother. shirley

I am dealing with family illness and will be off the net for a while. Please bare with me on that. If you believe in the power of prayer, say one for my aunt Peggy. She had triple bypass and is in bad shape.
Thanks

Savannah, I was born in Guatemala, but America is my home. :-) I am a first generation immigrant to the USA, and my hometown is San Jose, California. YES, Guatemala IS VERY beautiful, but currently VERY dangerous. :-(

Perhaps someday that will change. Looking forward to seeing your photos. TAKE CARE!!! Wil

I notice my writing is beginning to lean toward a step above sensual, and I learned a long time ago to write the story the way the characters want it. So, it is a surprise to me sometimes where my writing is going. It's just exciting to write, no matter what. I teach a creative writing class, and tell them they have to write the story that is calling to them, and not to be afraid. Go for the 'gusto.'

Hi Wil -- Thanks so much for the note. And for your love of horses. You mentioned that you were moving to Tampa. We used to live outside of Sarasota, now we're in the gorgeous rolling hills of Arkansas. Much better for the horses. If your horse moves with you, beware, the humidity is very hard on eqiunes.

To all my new friends, welcome. Thanks for adding me. Over time I will be able to get to know you all.
The pic of my bears was taken in Utah or somewhere out there. It was on one of my many cross country trips. The bears are also characters in a Young Adult book I have in the works.

It was and I had a hard time adjusting when I came back. I still deal with it but that is life. Thanks for the kind words. Now I am concentrating on the future and getting me my dog and my horse to Florida and my boat. I hope to make it soon. I am a sailor so it is going home. I am tired of the cold and snow here. I will try to keep in contact. My WIP takes place in Northern Florida on the famous Suwannee River.

Hi Savannah,

Vietnem must have been hell. I was in the Royal Air Force when you guys were over there, during the years of the Cold War, though I was never pitched into the kind of stuff you boys sufferred. You have my admiration and respect for having rebuilt your life and the fact that, as you say, horses played a large part in that is truly wonderful. Would love to hear more from you in future.

Best regards, and keep that writing flowing my friend.
