Born and raised in New York City, I now live in Hoboken, NJ with my husband Herb and a flock of pigeons.
My books:
Roxanne Hoffman, a former Wall Street banker, now works nights answering a patient hotline for a major home health care provider based in New York City. Still trying to reconcile writing poetry and making money, she owns Poets Wear Prada, a small press based in Hoboken, New Jersey, specializing in limited edition poetry chapbooks. Ms. Hoffman has also occasionally hosted the Friday night reading series and open mike at The Cornelia Street Cafe in New York City and was the host of the long running Sunday afternoon reading series at The Back Fence.
A member of The Riverside Poets Workshop, her poetry has been published in No 8. and No. 10 of their annual chapbook as well in Nomad's Choir, The Brownstone Poets Anthology, MÖBIUS The Poetry Magazine, The Rogue Gallery at RogueScholars.com, Red River Review and Lucid Rhythms and has recently appeared in Amaze: The Cinquain Journal, Asbestos, Best Poem: A Literary Journal, Champagne Shivers, Clockwise Cat, Danse Macabre, Luciole Press, Mirror Dance and in the Canadian journal Inscribed. Additional work is forthcoming in Doorways Magazine, Hospital Drive, Shofar Literary Review and The Long Islander (Walt's Corner)
Her writing is anthologized in The Bandana Republic: A Literary Anthology By Gang Members And Their Affiliates (Soft Skull, 2008) and the forthcoming Dinner With The Muse (Rays of Ra Press), Love After 70 (Wising Up Press) and Wisdom Of Our Mothers (Familia Books).
She is completing a new CD project Flora Selva dedicated to the memory of her mother and mentor that celebrates her multi-ethnic and multicultural heritage. One of the tracks, her trademark poem “This Poets Wear Prada” was recently featured by 10K Poets on Myspace.com. Her first CD/Chapbook Project Stolen Moments (Poetry Thin Air) was released in 2006.
Her poetry can be heard during the 50-minute independent film, "Love and the Vampire", directed and produced by David Gold and Rick Poli and shown at The Arlene’s Grocery Picture Show's 2005 Festival. Interviews and reading have been aired on cable (Poetry Thin Air, The Art House Show), UHF-TV (The New Yorkers), WKCR 89.9 FM NY (Art Waves), and Live365 web radio (Eadon's Place).
She lives with her life partner of 25 years, now married for 17 years in Hoboken, New Jersey.
