INTRODUCING A VERY SPECIAL KIND OF AUTHOR

In the world of writing, there are many wonderful specialisations: Whilst some authors may concentrate on writing thrillers or love stories, a very important function is that of the historic or research writer who records almost forgotten facts and happenings - just when they are about to slide into oblivion!
One such expert is Jenny Davies who is a child of Melbourne, Australia and her first creation is a very impressive achievement indeed! Having been born with an inquisitive mind and solid re… Continue

CREATIVITY - WHERE IS IT COMING FROM?

Thank you Peter.

Firstly - I have no up to date photo of myself at this time which is why there isn't one on my site. I will get one eventually. And nope - I am not shy, but like peace, quiet, private!

How do I market my books? At this time both are easily accessed via www.amazon.com and also via Book Clearing House in New York. Since the books are printed in the USA this makes sense because mailing costs are much lower in situ. ALSO Book Clear. House is involved directly with Ingrams/book database so individual book stores/sellers can order from them.

Mailing internationally is more of a problem - financial costs can be high - but not one which cannot be overcome. Since both books are recent I am still finding my feet and hope to link with others. I can also order directly for customers via my website but I prefer not be directly involved in the financial side of the buying.

I don't know if you have an offset printer and a stock of books but PRINT ON DEMAND is a good way forward nowadays. Createspace (an amazon.com subsidiary) and Lulu.com both allow for free/easy publishing and fulfil orders on demand. Therefore there is no large inventory sitting around. Since both are located in the USA they give easy access to the US market and mailing is no problem.

Let me know how you go about printing in Australia. I would consider PRINT ON DEMAND there for the Oz/New Zealand markets but I haven't been able to source a reputable one.

Seems to me as a travelling rep. you have the opportunity to get advance orders from booksellers in the areas you visit. Mail them the details in advance and say you can call in with a consignment!

Anyway, I wish you well and good luck with your books.

In Christ,

Eliza

Peter,

I am temporarily in Dublin, Ireland. I am Scottish by birth but have been in and out of Ireland for the last seven years.

The statement is actually, (in) Dublin temporarily, Ireland. What a difference a comma/missing comma can make!

Hope this explains.

Have a great day.

Eliza.
