I've been busy and didn't realize how long it's been. I have a new book out, Kindred Spirits, from http://mundaniapress.com, have been promoting like crazy, book launch with two luncheons and a library talk, made a trip to Taylorville IL to speak at a writers conference, and have a lot more planned, going to the WOW Conference in Scottsdale AZ to speak, a couple of book fairs, and I'll be speaking at the Erle Stanley Gardner Mystery Festival in Temecula CA.

Now that 2008 has begun what are your writing and promoting plans?

Because I have a new Rocky Bluff PD crime novel coming out I've been busy planning the promotion. Smell of Death has many of the characters of the first three in the series, but the story centers around Officer Stacey Wilbur and Detective Doug Milligan. Promotion takes a lot of time, but can certainly be fun too. Since September, I've been to Tampa FL to the WOW conference and then to Alaska for Bouchercon. While there, I stayed in Wasilla with a young native woman (she prefers Eskimo which isn't politically correct these days), we had a great time, and visited the Wasilla Middle School and talked to 6th through 8th graders about how to write a mystery. I also visited the Iditarod Headquarters and a reindeer farm.

Nothing like having a reviewer burst your euphoria about having a new book out by letting you know about an error on one of the pages. Actually I appreciated her doing that. Ironically, I got the message on my Blackberry while I was in Tampa at the WOW conference. My editor was there too and I told him. What he's decided to do is correct the error and issue a second edition.
