Just celebrated my 76th birthday
I just celebrated my 76th birthday in September and I've been looking back at all the things that have made up my life. I still breed registered puppies and kittens - don't know what I'd do if I didn't have them, really. I've lost my parents, my husband, and my youngest son in recent years and my only daughter moved from next door to a town just 70 miles away.
I also have three Miniature Horses and occasionally I get a new foal to play with.
When I started writing, I wrote poetry and songs and had a few songs published and recorded years ago. Still have tapes and CDs of the better ones for sale if you're interested.
When I was laid up because of an automobile accident in 1984 I decided to tackle a novel. One year later SING ME NO SAD SONGS was finished and I began the editing. That novel was subsequently published. I decided to try and make my writing "meaningful" so I began a novel about teenagers. FOR LOVE OF TEDDY was published by PublishAmerica. My passion now is to write novels for and about young people and introduce to them some new fictional heroes to look up to.
I have spent the past several months landscaping my front yard with new trees, ground covers, etc. I have one more order due to arrive shortly and then I will wait for spring to see how things turn out.
I also enjoy working with other writers and on my website I try to dig up new tips and articles to help promote and create saleable writings. I'd love to have you drop by for a visit - http://www.freewebs.com/thedesertwriter - and visit with other writers and submit your own promo material so I can pass along your story to others, too. (Absolutely no charge.) Please also sign the guest book and leave your email address so I can send you news about once a month.
I'd love to hear from everyone and look forward to sharing and helping where I can.
