The Road - One of my poems

The Road

There was a long, winding road
That stretched far ahead.
Blistered and cracked,
Deeply rutted,
On and on it seemed to go.

We couldn’t wait to travel down

Seemed like it went on forever then,
But if we stop right now,
Turn around,
Look back,
It was only a short little pathway
