I am just starting out in the Published Authors World lol

I see now how important it is have that ISBN number. Does this also mean you half to have the bar code too? Also, I do my booklets and coil poetry books which I enjoy. However, there isn't any book stores willing to sell them on consigment neither to sell them without the ISBN number. Only problem is i am on supplemnt for my health and I can only make small amout to live. I wanting the money anyhow go to my my family member for what they need. Any advice is help. I do have one download for $4.00 through lulu.com and the checks going to the member. however, can not afford a ISBN.
