Profile Information

My hometown:
I live in Weatherford, Texas on six heavily wooded acres with my husband Wayne and my precious eleven year old Emily Reed. I have a chihuahua named Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny and a golden retriever mix named Sam. I love my life and consider myself lucky to have changed the course of my being at the age of 44. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams! If you love to write, then write! Never think it’s too late to be published. You can achieve your writing goals, just search out publishing companies who are open to newer ideas and give them the very best that you’ve got! Send me an email at reedangie123@gmail.com. Thanks!
My books:
Currently, I am working on a sequel to Hybrid called Bloodling. My hope is to capitalize on a genre specifically meant to entice young adults with the joys of reading. Too many teens are unwilling or uninspired to read books throughout their entireties or even all together. Therefore, creating literature that is easy to read, draws them in, and leaves them wanting more, will only serve to encourage younger readers to develop a love for literature!

Emily thought the drama in her life was finally over. After her sister’s mysterious murder, Emily and her family left Dallas, Texas, for a new start in the rural town of Beckley, West Virginia. Everything seemed perfect. She was popular in school, doing well in her classes and even got a cute new boyfriend named Maxwell Snow. But just as everything seems to be going smoothly, a new boy named Julian arrives at school. Dark and wild, Julian seems to be the complete opposite of her perfect boyfriend, Max. But for some reason, Emily can’t stop thinking about this peculiar new boy who haunts her dreams. Who is he and why is she mysteriously drawn to him? Will she finally find some answers to her sister’s murder? Get ready to learn about a completely "new" version of vampires. Suddenly, Emily’s life seems to have a lot more drama, and it has only begun.
I really enjoyed reading Angie Reed’s novel, Hybrid. I am a huge fan of vampire books and this one did not disappoint. The plot was fun and entertaining and kept me on the edge of my seat. Also, I loved how every chapter opened with a quotation from a "famous" vampire. It was a suspenseful read and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! My only concerns where that the dialogue at times sounded forced and fake and a little immature for a young adult novel. The dialogue didn’t seem real or genuine. Also, I think that the character development of the main character, Emily, could have been a little more extensive. After reading the novel, I didn’t have a good grasp of her personality, and I think that more details would have been nice. Also, I thought it was a little weird that there was basically no mention of vampires until the very end of the novel. I do believe, however, that fans of Twilight will enjoy this new series and find themselves cheering for two new teams: Team Max and Team Julian. Who will Emily choose? Read to find out!
