- I was born in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA, and lived for a number of years in north-central Pennsylvania where my suspense novel, CROSSHAIRS, takes place. I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia and have been writing most of my life. After moving to Florida in the early 70s with my wife, Lee, I published dozens of suspense stories and worked as a publications specialist for local government. I am now retired and devote a lot of time to my writing, which includes novels, YA biographies, children's Picture Book texts, and book reviews. I also read both fiction and non-fiction and my interests include a wide variety of topics. My tastes in music are also wide and deep, including everything from classical to country, Celtic to Zydeco, Dixieland to big band jazz, and folk music from around the world.

My conclusion is that sites must provide news about NAME authors or they will never attract readers' attention to midlist and new authors. None of us can make a living just selling our books to each other, nor can we afford to buy a copy of every one's book on every site. We need "outside people" to come on each site we're part of who will then become interested in what we're all doing.
That's a long way of saying why it took me a couple of months to find your message about the FL writers conference back in November.
Sigh...I'm getting overextended with sites.
