Hi!
Larry the uncultured, the barbarian from the north.
Retired from General Motors, 41 years, a manufacturing, process and design engineering manager.
Widowed, was married to a wonderful woman for 32 years and I miss her.
I live in Michigan, have all my life and I absolutely despise the place. It’s cold and wet most of the time except for when it’s hot and wet. I would move but I’m just to damn lazy and cheap.
Have 2 books in publication, Next Exit, Maple Valley & Next Exit, Waters and a few shorts in the Amazon program.
Like to golf and fish, but mostly I like to do nothing and I found I am really good at that. (doing nothing)

Hi Larry,

You are very welcome to do nothing around here except share your thoughts and ideas. We're all ears!

Hi,

I'm from Southeast Missouri, married for 32 years, and have three beautiful grown children and four precious grand-children. I've worked as a waitress, medical tech, cashier, and until two years ago managed an oil lube. I spend most of my time now looking after my grand-children and writing. I have two books in publication, Behind the Red Door & Thorns of an Innocent Soul and write articles for several online journals.

Hey, Shelagh and other Fellow Authors,

So...I was sleep-walking through my early morning, when I noticed the invite from Dahris - a great lady who started an e-zine for which I write a humor column.. I'll just say a brief "hi" to everyone, and a thanks to Shelagh (great name by the way) for starting this.

In very brief, I live in Cherry Hill, NJ, an across-the-bridge suburb of Philadelphia. Like Larry, and not really intending to steal his thunder (but maybe borrowing some), we Philadelphians, especially us Philly sports fans, have often been described as "uncultured barbarians" ourselves.

Besides that, I'm married - no kids yet - and one of my great day-to-day pleasures is writing. So far, I have a humor book and a poetry book published, with both selling like 2007 Edsels. I look forward to invigorating my creative juices and being a part of the fun here. Oh, and enjoy my silhouette; it may be preferable to the photo I'll eventually post.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Cyndia Depre, but most people call me Cyn. My degree is in accounting, so naturally I write mysteries. Heh heh heh. When I hit my mid-forties, I realized I never had gotten around to writing that book I always wanted to. So I closed my business and wrote Amanda's Rib. It took a long, long time because I didn't know how to write. Kind of a roadblock for an author. I took classes and did too many rewrites to count. Then came the rejections. Finally, a publisher, Mundania Press, believed in me. They are small, but that's okay. So am I. My second novel, Oblivious, is due out early 2008.

Thanks for letting me join your group!

Hi Everyone,

I'm Jenny, I write under the pen name of Victoria Howard. My first novel, Three Weeks Last Spring, was released in August 2006. I have recently submitted my second manuscript, Chasing the Sandpiper to an agent. Fingers crossed. I retired as an employee of the National Health Service in September last year (no, I'm not that old!). Prior to that I lived in Scotland for 20 years and was director of a hydrographic survey company, involved in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry. I moved to Sheffield, South Yorkshire in September 2000. I have a border collie called Lucy. I enjoy walking, reading, foreign travel, gardening, designing knitwear, and of course, writing. I'm currently in the process of developing the plot for a third novel.

I don't want to appear dense but is Sheffield, South Yorkshire in England? Just the name alone makes it sound like a heavenly place...I hope you and Lucy will be very happy here, the people seem amazing. Welcome!

Hi, my name is Charleen but most online know me as Chatty, I am a published writer of 50 or so short stories and some poetry. I write for several online sites and make my living as an International Editor. I love editing and am a workaholic that puts in 10 hour days, usually 6 days a week...

I am a widow, mother of two handsome, grown, married sons and grandmother of three. I am owned by two tiny Yorkies, named Reeta and Rosee, and have 4 animal grandkids, Prince a passionate Pit Bull, Sophie a humongous Mastiff, Angel a wild and crazy Chihauhau, and a cute kitty.

I am originally from Indiana, born and raised. But I make my home in Las Vegas and have since1990. I live in a beautiful manicured resort village, its like being on vacation 24/7...

I tried being retired but nearly went bonkers after only three weeks, so decided to do what I do best --EDIT other writers manuscripts...I also teach a writing class. I call my business Writers Services. The one thing that made a change in my life was seeing a film with Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt called PAY IT FORWARD. Keeping that delightful movie in mind, I designed my rates to be very 'low,' some say ridiculous! But that's my way of paying it forward...I was guided by other professionals at the beginning of my career, and now it's my turn to help others. I literally baby my autors, and their books, and the results are amazing!!
Check my myspace site at: www.myspace.com/writersdreameditor
and see some of my wonderful authors books there...

I am happy to also have this site filled with impressive people, to rub elbows with...If interested in a FREE special offer, for new or established writers, send an email for info to me at: ccmeditor@cox.net
So very happy to meet you, one and all!
