Hi People, this is not strictly related to Ning, but it may apply. It is a new initiative I called Sustainable Web that I am proposing to all webmasters of web site, especially web 2.0 site like this one. Read the article on my blog and let me know what do you think about, if you like. It is in English.

If you agree, I would appreciate if you could spread the word. More people will support sustainable web and better wull be the future of web.

Interesting Dario! I receive three or four requests daily to join new networks (especailly Ning networks!) and I'm already a member of over twenty Ning networks! Most social networks are set up to increase the amount of spam sent out my email (share, invite, request etc.) and more networks are created every day.

Right. We risk to use web 2.0 in a away that vanify all the advantages... We have to develop new behavior recommendations and hints for a better use of the web. Surfing web is just like driving a car: we do not expect to do that without some directions and after learning driving rules and techniques...

Dario,

I read your article and I found it interesting. You make a lot of sense and to some extent I have tried to utilize that vary concept. I try to avoid typing the exact same thing in every social networking site to which I belong which is over 40. Most of them are ning sites. I do not join every site to which I am invited only those with which I have an interest, can learn something or provide some input to help others learn. It is important that we learn from each other as we all have something to share. I regularly provide input in forums and I learn from other inputs to forums. I agree I get several request to join networks and at times it can be overwhelming.
